Farming Pounds of Flesh in Diablo 4 isn't something you'll care about much while levelling, but once Torment opens up, it starts to matter fast. This material is tied to some of the tougher Bloodied endgame content, and players chasing stronger builds will eventually need it for boss access and rare Diablo 4 Items. The catch is simple: you don't really farm it well by wandering around and hoping. You need the right sigils, a build that doesn't fold under pressure, and enough patience to deal with rough drops.
Where Pounds of Flesh come from
The main source is Bloodied activity. That usually means Bloodied Nightmare Dungeons, Bloodied Infernal Hordes, and certain boss-related runs that use special sigils. These aren't just normal endgame runs with a fancy name. Bloodied Sigils push enemies above your current comfort zone, often feeling like you've stepped up another Torment tier. Blood-Soaked Sigils are worse, in a good and painful way. They're meant for players who already have their damage, armor, resistances, and recovery sorted. If your build still struggles with regular Torment packs, don't rush into these. You'll spend more time dying than looting.
Getting the right sigils
Bloodied and Blood-Soaked Sigils can drop from enemies in Torment difficulty, though you shouldn't expect them every few minutes. Seasonal caches are another decent source, especially if you're already clearing board objectives while farming gear. Nightmare Dungeons, elite routes, and other endgame loops can also help because you're stacking several goals at once: sigils, gold, gear upgrades, and crafting materials. That's usually the smarter play. Don't sit in one activity for hours if it feels dead. Rotate. Run a few dungeons, open caches, clear dense zones, then go back once you've picked up more keys.
Kurast Undercity and the Butcher's Hoard
Kurast Undercity runs with a Tribute of Titans can also reward boss materials, including Pounds of Flesh, but it's less focused. You may get keys for other bosses instead, which is fine if you're building a wider stash, not so great if you only want the Butcher. Once you've collected enough Pounds of Flesh, you can enter The Broiler in Gea Kul and challenge the Butcher's Hoard encounter. This version of the Butcher hits harder than the random dungeon ambush most players remember. Expect punishing melee pressure, awkward space control, and moments where standing still for one second too long gets you deleted.
Making the farm worth your time
Go in with a build that clears quickly but doesn't rely on perfect play every pull. Movement speed helps more than people admit, because faster clears mean more sigil use and more chances at drops. Keep an eye on single-target damage too, since the Butcher and other boss-style fights punish builds that only shine against big packs. If you'd rather save time while tuning your character, some players choose to buy Diablo IV Items alongside regular farming, but the real progress still comes from learning which Bloodied runs your build can clear safely and repeating them with a steady rhythm.
